At the heart of the Mediterranean lies Zohr Field, one of the region’s most significant energy projects. Among the professionals driving safety and operational excellence is Ali Zakaria Ali, an HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Engineer dedicated to maintaining the highest standards in a complex and high-risk environment.

In his role, Ali plays a crucial part in upholding a “Zero Harm” philosophy. Working in a field known for its challenging conditions, he focuses on managing critical risks such as Hydrogen Sulfide (H₂S), a toxic gas that requires advanced detection systems and strict adherence to respiratory protection measures to ensure worker safety at all times.

Ali is also responsible for conducting regular safety inspections and audits, identifying potential hazards before they escalate, and ensuring full compliance with international safety regulations. His proactive approach helps create a safer and more efficient workplace.

When incidents or near-misses occur, Ali leads detailed investigations to determine root causes and implement corrective actions. This commitment not only prevents recurrence but also strengthens the overall safety culture across the site.

Through daily Toolbox Talks (TBT), he actively engages with a multicultural workforce, raising awareness about site-specific risks and reinforcing the importance of safety procedures in every task performed.

Beyond safety, Ali is deeply committed to environmental protection. He monitors waste management practices and emissions, working to minimize the project’s environmental footprint and protect the Mediterranean ecosystem.

With dedication and professionalism, Ali Zakaria Ali stands as a key figure in ensuring that operations at Zohr Field continue safely, responsibly, and sustainably—protecting both people and the environment.
